Cosmic Clash Opens Season Under Black Lights!

By Bill X. Barron – RMN Events Writer

In 2017, RMN Events introduced blacklight wrestling.  The Cosmic Clash was such a success that it has grown to a full 20 mats.  Register by September 1st to receive your own glow-in-the-dark singlet which comes in four different designs! (include your size)

To augment the “cosmic” theme, as seen in other events with this moniker, the tournament will be held under special black lights throughout the entire event!  In the words of RMN Events President Adam Gutierrez: “Holding this event under special lighting had never been attempted previously.”  Even the referees will glow with blacklight-active red and green bands as well as special gloves and whistles.

“Moving the event from last season’s location hall may have been a little on the darks side. In 2018, the Event Center is the new home of the Cosmic Clash and this year we will feature more themed effects. More lighting, more mats, more wrestlers.” Said, Adam Gutierrez.

Females should be excited for this year’s Cosmic Clash as it will feature a Women’s Division. “We added more weights this season which gives more opportunity for growth.” Said, Josh Gutierrez.

RMN Event's new tournament registration system now allows participants the convenience of making weight changes for registered wrestlers up until the registration deadline. You must use the password you registered with, and the invoice number you received at the time you registered, in order to access your registration.

Competition will be held in 6-&-Under, 8&U, 10&U, 12&U, 15&U, and 18&U age divisions.  For 6-&-Under, 8&U, 10&U, and 12&U divisions, you will have a one-pound weight allowance.  For the 15&U and 18&U divisions, there will be a 2-pound weight allowance.  If you are in the 10th grade at the time of the event, you must participate in the 18U division regardless of age.  Also, please note this update regarding the 15-&-Under Division:

  • If you are in 10th grade, then you must wrestle in the 18-&-Under division.
  • If you are in 9th grade, you have the option of wrestling in the 15&U or 18&U divisions (or both).
